Listen: Podcast:  Fat Mascara

Fat Mascara is a relatively new podcast created by two beauty editors, Jessica Matlin and Jennifer Goldberg.  I love this podcast because it is funny, smart and down to earth.  Listening to Fat Mascara like having a conversation with two of your best friends who happen to know a lot about the beauty industry.  Highly worth a listen!

I love Nikki’s tutorials which range from hair to skincare to makeup.  Nikki’s style is  California breezy and casual which is exactly what I need in a tutorial.  I’m a working mom so I don’t have much time to get ready in the morning and Nikki is all about a quick look.

Read: Travel Fashion Girl

As someone who travels a lot for work and pleasure, I really appreciate Travel Fashion Girl, which gives great advice on what and how to pack for travel.  Also, if you are looking for a book to read while traveling I highly recommend “Eleanor & Park” by Rainbow Rowell.  This was one of my favorite books last year.

Wear: Makeup: Colourpop

I have been slow to jump on the Colourpop Cosmetics bandwagon, mainly because they are an online retailer and I usually like to try before I buy.  In this case it was worth the leap of faith because I absolutely love their lip products and they are very, very reasonably priced at $5-$6 a pop.  So far I have tried out Molly (a matte satin bright mauve lipstick), More Better (an ultra matte dark mauve lipstick) and Peacocky (a sheer red lipstick) and have been really impressed by the quality of the brand.  I’ve also heard good things about their eyeshadows and I can’t wait to try out more from Colourpop!
