I have been hunting around for a new moisturizer to replace my Kiehl’s Ulta Facial moisturizer.  I love me some Kiehl’s but I think it’s a good idea to mix it up every once in a while. The criteria – I like my moisturizers to be lightly scented or unscented and pretty basic.  I am just looking for something to moisturize and not break me out.  Ialso thought it might be fun to try out some of the natural skin care lines I had been reading about.  So, easy right?

Herbacin –  $7.50 Amazon.com

Herbacin MedI’m not going to lie – this smells kinda like playdough to me but if you can get past that, it’s an excellent moisturizer and cheap to boot.  Not to easy find, but I got mine on amazon for next to nothing.  I would buy it again.  The hand lotion is the real deal too and is great for healing cracked heels.

Ahava Essential Day Moisturizer, $39.50 Ulta.comAhava

Ahava Essential Day moisturizer on the other the hand smells wonderful, with a light floral scent.  This is a good solid moisturizer  and I would buy again even though it’s a little on the pricier size.  I am eager to try some of their other products as well.

Weleda $20, smallflower.comWeleda

Weleda has several types of moisturizers and I couldn’t decide which moisturizer would be best for my dry combo skin so I bought two different types – the Iris Hyradting lotion and the Wild Rose Smoothing cream .  Both are lovely.  In the end I decided Iris worked the best and I thought it made my skin look great.

I think  the experiment to was a success and look forward to buying these moisturizer again in the future.  (although Kiehl’s Ultra moisturizer is still my favorite).  The heart wants what the heart wants.

Have any moistuizers you like?  Please share!

  1. I use Shiseido (skin care line-the white bottles). Next time your in Sephora, try it on your hand. Its a light formula thats has a light floral scent. Its the only facial moisturizer my face can absorb with out any breakouts. Its $45 but 3/4 of pump covers my face and it lasts about 6 months. I’ll have to try Ahava next time I’m at Ulta..which will be very soon since they keep sending coupons. UGH! 🙂
